Pale Waves is set to release its second album at the beginning of February 2021. They teased us by releasing some songs that will be on the album. A few of those songs are “She’s My Religion,” along with “Easy” and “Change.” Lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie (HBG) wanted to use music and this album as a way to embrace her LBTQ+ identity. She is trying to normalize LBTQ+ relationships with the specific use of pronouns in this song.

HBG says this is not a typical love song because “Society depicts the dark sides to a person as unlovable and tends to only focus on the positive sides. I believe in loving someone, and their entirety creates a love that is freeing and truthful.” The song is very impactful with the dark gothic mood and underlying message. However, the chorus tempo is very upbeat and is the type you belt-out in your car.

I'm very excited for what's to come and already love the pre-released songs on the new album.
